Hostrol Smart is a product (or service) operated by Shenzhen Sangshen E-commerce Co.,Ltd., (hereinafter referred to as "we", "us", or "our") that allows you to control and manage smart auto devices using your mobile device. We understand the importance of your personal information and will do our best to protect it. We pledge:

1. We will be transparent about the different types of information we may use and how we use them.

2. We will ask your permission before sharing your personal information with third parties for purposes other than at your request or to provide Hostrol Smart’s services, and to do so only when we think they will provide you with a welcome additional service.

3. We will use the best-in-class data security tools to keep your data safe and to protect the Hostrol Smart Products from unauthorized access.

Please read and understand the Hostrol Smart Privacy Policy carefully before using our products (or services). If you do not agree with any part of these terms, please do not use the service.

You hereby represent and warrant that you are an adult when you start using this product (or service). If you are a minor, your guardian must agree to your use of this product (or service) and agree to the relevant terms and conditions.

1. How We Collect and Use Your Personal Information

Personal information refers to a variety of information recorded electronically or otherwise that can be used alone or in combination with other information to identify a particular person or to reflect the activity of a particular person.

We will only collect and use your personal information for the following purposes described in this Privacy Policy.

1.1 Providing you with the following core functions

(1) Account login

In order to provide you with Hostrol Smart services and manage Hostrol Smart devices, we need to collect the following information: your Hostrol Smart ID username, login password, nickname, and profile picture. Among the information collected, your Hostrol Smart ID username and login password are sensitive personal information. The purpose of collecting such information is to log into the Hostrol Smart ID servers to authenticate your identity in order to grant server access permissions for the Hostrol Smart app.

We will use your personal information in the following ways: the Hostrol Smart ID username and login password you enter will be encrypted and transmitted to the Hostrol Smart ID servers for login authentication. This information will not be stored either on the Hostrol Smart app or the Hostrol Smart ID servers.

If you do not provide such information and you do not log in to your Hostrol Smart ID, you will not be able to use Hostrol Smart services. After logging your Hostrol Smart ID, Hostrol Smart will automatically retrieve your nickname and profile picture and display them on the app screen.

(2) Basic services of Hostrol Smart device management

In order for Hostrol Smart to bind, control, and manage smart devices, we need to collect the following information: device name, model, version, manufacturer, SN, device identifier, MAC address, IP address, device running status, custom properties, setting parameters, device status messages, and device control and usage records. The purpose of collecting such information is to bind, control and manage Hostrol Smart devices. This includes setting device properties and parameters and checking device status and usage history.

In order to discover Wi-Fi smart home devices and connect to a WLAN network, Hostrol Smart requires access to your device’s location to obtain the WLAN network list, location information, WLAN network identifier, and WLAN password. Among the information collected, your WLAN password is sensitive personal information. The purpose of collecting such information is to discover nearby smart home devices and connect them to the WLAN network. The aforementioned information is only used locally and will not be uploaded to any servers.

If you do not provide such information, you will not be able to use Hostrol Smart to discover, bind, control, and manage smart devices.

(3) Online feedback and rapid replacement

To allow you to provide online feedback regarding problems relating to the Hostrol Smart app, we need to collect the following information: app logs, device logs, your contact information and the description of the problem, and screenshots and videos of the problem. App logs and device logs include such information as device status, sensor data, device operation records, etc. Such information is collected and used to analyze and locate the cause of the current problem. The purpose of collecting your contact information is to send you products for rapid replacement and provide you with after-sales service.

We shall use your personal information in the following ways: Locate and resolve the reported problem and resolve the rapid replacement. We will not display your personal information, or use such information to push advertisements to you.

If you do not provide the aforementioned information, we shall not be able to effectively locate and resolve your problem, as well as offer you a rapid replacement service.

1.2 Additional functions

To provide you Hostrol Smart additional functions including Savvy User activities, community, and Savvy User reward points, we need to collect the following information: device identifier, user identifier, device type, model and manufacturer, mobile device operating system and model.

You need to offer your name, address, and email for us to deliver products if you win the prize, participate in the trial activities, and redeem products. And your data will be saved in the Hostrol Smart server.

In order to deliver your products, we need to provide your contact information to the third-party logistics company.

If you purchase products on Savvy User, you will complete the transaction on Amazon, and your information will be governed by the privacy policy provided by Amazon.

If you do not provide this information, you will not be able to use the Hostrol Smart additional functions.

1.3 Service guarantee and optimization

To support continuous improvement, research, development, and testing of new services and functions, and to perform troubleshooting activities, Hostrol Smart collects additional information by:

Google Analytics (https://developers.google.com/analytics/), a third-party data Analytics service used by Hostrol Smart, to collect information such as the features users use, the results of actions performed, the time, frequency and duration of their online activity, crash logs, and more. Typically, analytics services do not identify individual users.

Hostrol Smart collects information through questionnaires, voting and other activities, such as users' preference for the appearance of a certain device, their preference for functions, and the installation location of the device. The questionnaire and voting are voluntary. Usually, questionnaires, voting and other activities do not identify individual users.

2. Device Permission Call

Location permission: To connect the Hostrol Smart to smart devices, we need to obtain the WLAN list and Bluetooth device list of the system. According to the Android system permission application principle, we need to obtain your location permission to read the WLAN list and Bluetooth device list. In order to use velocity mode on some devices (such as S1), we need to obtain your location permission to read the broadcast data and parse the data collected by the sensor.

Camera permission: In order to use the camera to problem feedback in Hostrol Smart, you need to enable this permission for taking photos and shooting videos.

Microphone permission: You need to enable this permission in order to use the Mic mode provided in Hostrol Smart for some devices like R1 R2, as well as recording when shooting videos in problem feedback, rapid replacement, community posting and activity participation.

Storage permission: You need to enable this permission to read files stored on the device in order to problem feedback, rapid replacement, posting in the community, participation in activities and other functions in Hostrol Smart.

In addition to the above permissions, when using a device with Bluetooth, you need to turn on the Bluetooth. If you do not do so, you will not be able to connect to the device. You can turn off Bluetooth by "setting" the system. You can manage all of these rights by accessing the system "Settings."

3. Storage and Security of Information

Hostrol Smart cares about the security of your information and uses physical, administrative, and technological safeguards to help preserve the integrity and security of all information we may use and that we share with our service providers. However, please note that no security measure is perfect. In the event that any information under our control is compromised as a result of a breach of security, we will take reasonable steps to investigate the situation and where appropriate, notify those individuals whose information may have been compromised and take other steps, in accordance with any applicable laws and regulations. If you wish to change your password, or if you become aware of any loss, theft or unauthorized use of your password, please contact us at support@hostrol-smart.com. Hostrol Smart may process your personal information on servers outside your country/region. You agree to transfer your personal information to the United States or any other geographical location. If you visit the website or services from outside the United States, please note that U.S. law or law from any other jurisdiction where we or our service providers handle your personal information may not provide you with the same privacy protection laws. In some cases, according to law enforcement agencies and regulatory agencies in other jurisdictions, legal access to your personal information may be granted.

4. Your Data Subject Rights

In order for you to easily access, amend, and delete your personal information during the course of using the Hostrol Smart app, we have added the relevant operating settings in the product. Refer to the following guidelines for details.

5.1 Access personal information

You can view the running status and usage history of a bound Hostrol Smart device on the device’s home page in the Hostrol Smart app. Go to the device’s Setting page to view information about the device, including the device name, MAC address, device type, etc. You can also go to “My profile” page and tap the profile picture to view your personal information.

You can uninstall the Hostrol Smart app or clear the Hostrol Smart app data to clear data stored locally on the Hostrol Smart app.

5.2 Update personal information

You can set device operation parameters and change device information for Hostrol Smart devices you have bound on the home page or Settings page of the device. You can also touch your profile picture to modify your personal information.

6. Other Matters that Need to be Reminded and the Reasons for Exemption

6.1 Links to third party websites

The Services may, from time to time, contain links to and from third party websites of our partner networks, advertisers, partner merchants, retailers and affiliates. If you follow a link to any of these websites, please note that these websites have their own privacy policies and that we do not accept any responsibility or liability for their policies. Please check the individual policies before you submit any information to those websites. Additionally, our websites may include social media features such as Facebook, Twitter, and Pinterest buttons (such as “Like” “Tweet” or “Pin”). These social media sites may automatically record information about your browsing behavior every time you visit a site that has a social media button, regardless of whether you click on the button. Your interactions with these features are governed by the privacy policy of the company providing the feature, not by our Privacy Policy. Please review your privacy settings on social media sites.

6.2 Children’s privacy

Our websites, products, and services are primarily intended for adults. The services are not directed to persons under 13 years of age and we do not intentionally collect or maintain personal information from persons under 13 years of age. If you become aware that personal information about a person under 13 years of age has been provided to us, please immediately contact us at support@hostrol-smart.com.

6.3 Privacy rights of California users

Section 1798.83 of the California Civil Code allows a resident of the state of California to request from us each year, free of charge, a list of third parties to whom we disclosed personally identifiable information (as defined by the statute) about that resident of the state of California in the previous year and the categories of personally identifiable information disclosed to them. Hostrol Smart reserves the right to update this statement in due course. When a change occurs, we will send you a change notification in the form of a pop-up dialog box. We will only collect, use, and store your personal information in accordance with the updated statement with your consent.
